Full tang tactical wakizashi Japanese Sword Yokote - Clay Tempered L6 Steel
Hand forged polished blade made of the highest quality L6 steel. This is a top quality replica of a samurai sword that is suitable for sake trials and can be disassembled. This blade has been tried and tested to remove everything in its path ! Sori (blade curvature) is specially designed to achieve the finest and cleanest cuts possible. L6 carbon steel has impressive hardness in the HRC range - the perfect combination of this hardness is underlined by the curvature of the Sori blade , which makes it easy to cut through tatami, straw mats or bamboo for tameshigiri. The full tang construction of this wakizashi ingreatly increases the power of the sword. The tip of the blade is shaped shinogi-zukuri and chu kissaki with a real yokote, which is very well defined by the hamon running full length through the Boshi. We can safely say of this sword that it is READY FOR BATTLE!
The grooved blade (hi zukuri) is of the koshi zori design with a curve near the hilt, which - together with the good ergonomics of the rubber handle, weight proportions and balance - gives the sword great chopping capabilities. The Fulltang handle is roughened with herringbone, allowing a stable grip with wet, sweaty or bloody hands. For a particularly firm grip, an ochre-coloured parachute cord passes through the hole at the end of the handle like a portepe (wristlet). It is also wrapped around the black lacquered wooden sheath and can serve not only to fix the wakizashi to the belt, but become an invaluable tool in the rugged outdoors or borderline surival situation.
The screws on the handle, the oval tsuba guard and the cord loop (kurigata) are made of brass, which contrasts nicely with the overall black of the accessories and the silver steel of the blade.
