Product detailed description

Katana Dragon Horimono Japanese Sword T-10 Mono-Steel, Real Suguha/Choji Hamon, nagasa 2,50 Shaku, tip chu-kissaki, Yokote

This blade is crafted from top-quality T-10 high-carbon steel in a monocomposite Maru configuration, with differential hardening. T-10 carbon steel is exceptionally strong and retains its sharpness brilliantly. The blade, without a bo-hi groove, has been hand-polished with a hazuya stone in the final stage, achieving a near razor-sharp edge and a mirror-like finish. A Horimono dragon motif is engraved on the blade, symbolizing power and precision. This blade has been tested and proven to cut through anything in its path! The Sori (curvature) of the blade is specially designed to deliver the finest and cleanest cuts possible. The T-10 monocomposite carbon steel boasts an impressive hardness of HRC 58, perfectly balanced with the Sori curvature for easy cutting through tatami mats, straw mats, or bamboo during tameshigiri. The full tang construction significantly enhances the sword’s strength and durability, making it a truly formidable weapon.

The blade tip is shaped in Shinogi-Zukuri and Chu Kissaki style, featuring a genuine diamond-shaped Yokote that is well-defined, with the Hamon running along the entire length through the Boshi. The distinct, real Suguha Hamon, which seamlessly transitions into Choji Hamon in the final third, is crafted using ancient traditional methods, drawing on the many years of expertise of a master bladesmith.

Reasons for Warranty Exclusion - Improper Use

  • •In general, this includes all activities other than traditional cutting techniques used for testing cuts on special mats.
  • •Cutting branches, trees, and bushes: Tools like axes or machetes were specifically designed for such tasks.
  • •Striking or fencing with another sword: This leads to destructive damage to the blade of the samurai sword. Samurai avoided any direct contact with enemies to prevent blade damage, as repairs were lengthy and costly.

  • •Never carry a sharp samurai sword with an exposed blade in public: Always keep the sword sheathed in its Saya (scabbard). In Germany and other EU countries, this is legally mandated by weapons regulations.
  • •Never sheath a dirty blade into the Saya: If you perform cutting tests on fruit, clean and preserve the blade immediately after cutting to prevent rust and oxidation.
  • •Never leave the sword in a damp location such as a porch, shed, basement, or conservatory. This traditional weapon deserves better care. Always clean the blade after use, oil it, and store the sword in a dry place.
