Product detailed description

Wakizashi MIBOJIN carbon steel blade T-10 Choji Hamon, Yokote

Forged blade made of the highest quality T-10 steel. The steel was laminated in the Maru monocomposite configuration - differentially hardened. T-10 carbon steel (1.1% carbon and 0.4% manganese) is very strong and holds its edge very well. Significant real Choji Hamon is created according to ancient traditional methods based on the master blacksmith's many years of experience. After rafter grinding and polishing, the surface of the blade is like a mirror. The blade has been polished with hazuya stone in the final stage - thus achieving an almost razor sharp edge. This is a top quality replica of a samurai sword, which is suitable for sect tests and can be disassembled into individual parts. This blade has been tried and tested to remove everything in its path ! Sori (blade curvature) is specially designed to achieve the finest and cleanest cuts possible. All this combined with the choice of a traditional Koshirae ensures that you get the best in terms of appearance and functionality. T-10 carbon steel has impressive hardness in the HRC range- the perfect combination of this hardness is accentuated by the curvature of the Sori blade , which makes it easy to cut through tatami, straw mats, or bamboo for tameshigiri. The full tang construction of this katana ingreatly increases the sword's power. The blade tip is shaped shinogi-zukuri and chu kissaki with real Diamond-Shaped Yokote, which is very well defined by the hamon running the full length through the Boshi.

Company Dellinger disclaims all liability for injury and damage resulting from use. Keep the katana out of the reach of children! Any handling of the samurai sword is your own responsibility. Remember, you have a deadly weapon in your hands!

Wakizashi is a Japanese samurai short sword with the same appearance as the katana. The Wakizashi was worn in a pair of daisho, as a backup weapon. The blade of the wakizashi is made using the same process as the katana. Most often, broken blades of long swords (katanas) were used for production. The wakizashi was considered a protector of honor and was almost never unsheathed by the samurai. Even in his own home, the samurai kept his wakizashi handy in case of sudden attack. He wore it tucked behind his kaku-obi belt, blade up, so that he could respond to a sudden attack from the enemy directly from its sheath. In the case of ritual suicide (sppuka) , the samurai used his wakizashi, or more commonly, a dagger tanto.

More here:
The groove on the blade brings with it lightness, an attractive sound even at a weak swing and, moreover, the production of a blade with a groove is less demanding and so the sword can have a more attractive price. On the other hand, a sword without a groove is overall stronger, more durable, and for some, even nicer. Swords of the highest quality are usually without a groove.
